Blue tigers were mythical creatures of Thain Harad and Distant lands belonging to the family of Felines. We know about them only that that existed and their fur was one of the most despairly desires in all the world where human or elvish feet had stood.

There was a duel Tiger and Duke that lasted for 3 hours and after tremendous fight Kaitonog had slain the beast and made from that fur his jacket that had 3 pockets on down of each side and the buttons made from tusks of tiger. That coat was used in most important occasions and drinking by drinking beer with blood of tiger Kaitonog lived to age of 345 and bringed to the kingdom luck and prosperity.

We find other sources saying about Blue Tiger when it was caught in northern part of peninsula and its fur was sold for 134 000 dok-mens to the king of Koanoz that equals 500 000 modern pounds.
another source says that in times of S. A. Blue Tigers had population around 5000 tigers but around 1695 S. A. dragons arrived and ate significant part of the population. the only tigers that survived to 3rd age are these mentioned in tales. Survived also old Magri saying "strong as Blue Tiger".
