A blowgun or blowpipe was a simple ranged weapon consisting of a small tube for firing light needles or darts. The wielder blew into one end, forcing the dart out the other. Sometimes, for increased effectiveness, the dart was tipped with a poison, for example pûra.
In Middle-earth, blowguns were used mainly by the Haradrim (northern and southern) and Woses. The Woses also used a special variant called pipebow.
