Blovo Miblipûl (Fs. "Fat-one ofvthe big-ram-kindred") was a male of the Fasattâli who lived during the Second Age.
He lived in a time when her people were very reclusive, and virtually unknown to the entire rest of the world.
History[]
Blovo was loved by his community, but considered a 'giwik' (Fs. "Clumsy and naive but funny person; an ijit"). During his people's migration into the Westlands, Blovo died following a humourous incident with bees.
Zâdok Sippîan read his name to the others of the community before they began another migration, in order to remember those that had come before them.
Notes[]
- Original Name: Blovo Bolgerbuck = Blovo Miblipûl
Blovo does not seem to be derived from any other known language and thus most likely represents a genuine name of the Halfling-ancestors original native language.Bolgerbuck indicates a bulged, or big-bellied, male ram.
This character's name has been rendered in modern English, although typically Hobbit names are not translated until the later Third Age. Also the Hobbits did not start to bear family names until the 24th century of the third Age, their ancestors only had personal names; though perhaps this can be seen as a rarely-incorporated clan name of some kind.
