One of the younger Ents, Beechbone lived in Fangorn Forest, where he ruled over beeches and other nut-trees. He took part in the battle for Isengard, where he was caught on Fire of Orthanc by the gas let out by the Orcs of Isengard and presumably burned to death.
Biography[]
A relatively young Ent of the folk of Skinbark, Beechbone acted as a ‘messenger’ of sorts for the Ents of the high mountains. He roamed up and down the foothills, regularly travelling the forest to keep track of the doings of other Ents, as well as studying the many creatures that wandered the heights of the mountains and the forest alongside him. Beechbone shared Skinbark’s worries over what the future might hold for Fangorn and the trees he loved. Though it pained him at times to be away, his adventurous spirit sustained him far from “his” trees as he sought anything that could help the cause of his folk. The right sort of company would find Beechbone to be a stalwart ally and a useful friend, for his knowledge of both beasts and plants ran deep.
Beechbone was very tall, and was described by other Ents as handsome, for the many high branches that crowned his long head and his smooth, silver-white bark. His voice was a cheerful rumble that gently shook the bones of Free Folk on the rare occasions that he got to speak with them.
