Boromir: "Is it not a strange fate that we should suffer so much fear and doubt for so small a thing? So small a thing!"
- J. R. R. Tolkien, The Fellowship of the Ring II:10

Beadula was a toll-collector of the Beornings and Guardian of the High Pass. Rumor however had it that he was secretly a minion of the Shadow.

Notes[]

  • Original form in MECCG: Baduila
Baduila is the latinized form of an Ostrogothic male name, attributed to the historical King Baduila as his birthname. The etymology is most likely *badwō, "Battle", and -ila, a common Gothic ending indicating an affectionate form. So Baduila would be "the Little Battler" or "Little Fighter". The corresponding Anglo-Saxon form would be "Beadula".
