The Battle on the eaves of Fangorn was a minor skirmish during the War of the Ring. A group of Isengard Orcs led by Uglúk and a group of Orcs from Mordor and Dol Guldur led by Grishnákh were utterly destroyed by an éored led by Éomer Éadig. A smaller troop of Isengard orcs led by Mauhúr which had arrived to support Uglúk had also been destroyed or at least scattered.
The black field on which the dead orcs corpses had been piled up and burned by the Rohirrim became known thereafter as Éomer's vengeance.
