After the Fall of Nargothrond, Glaurung ruled from the area for nearly 5 years and became known as the 'dragon-king.' Glaurung issued forth having learned that Túrin was in Brethil.
As Glaurung approached Cabed-en-Aras, Túrin laid an ambush for him and slew him, but lost Hunthor in the process.
As Glaurung died, and Túrin remained unconscious, Nienor stooped over Túrin and began to heal him of his wounds. Glaurung awoke and revealed to her that Túrin was in fact her brother.
Realizing that she carried her brother's unborn child, she fled and cast herself into the ravine. This was witnessed by Brandir, who later killed Darlas for abandoning Túrin at this battle. Later Túrin committed suicide by killing himself - after murdering Brandir in a fit of rage.
