An Arnorian Hand-and-a-half Sword
A bastard sword is a type of long sword fitting into neither the one-handed sword family, nor the "two-handed sword family", thus being labelled a "bastard". It is also called "hand-and-a-half sword". The elven "hand-and-a-half" longsword was called megil.
In Middle-earth the bastard sword was used by the Black Númenóreans, Half-elves, Noldor, Sindar, and the Corsairs of Umbar.
