Baldor (E. "Powerful scion") had once been a mighty champion of the Edain of Beleriand. At a feast, he drunkenly boasted to do as the great Fingolfin and walk to the gates of Angband. He went and was never seen again alive, but it had been said he was slain, and his dead body still wandered the endless mazes of the Ironhell, trapped forever.

In the Angband roguelikes, Baldor was intended to be Baldor the Hapless. However, as this character was not even yet born in the First Age, he here is reinterpreted as a Lord of the Edain.
