The [[ICE]] Canon made Nwalkahendi a nephew of Glaurung, implying that he was the descendant of an unknown brother or sister of Glaurung. Also, as J.R.R. Balcheneb (S."Wild-eyed") was a powerful fire-drake, a nephew of Glaurung. He was born prior to the Fall of Gondolin, in which he bore Morgoth's Balrog-lords into battle and almost crushed Tuor and Ecthelion. Luckily the two warriors managed to wound the creature, and provoked it to go berserk and devastate his own ranks.
He was mate to Goehel and father of Agburanar and was said to have perished in the War of Wrath.
Notes
MERP's Creatures of Middle-earth gives his name as "Nwalkahendi". The Other Hands article proposes Sindarin "Balchen". The ICE Canon made Nwalkahendi a nephew of Glaurung, implying that he was the descendant of an unknown brother or sister of Glaurung. Also, as J.R.R. Tolkien stated that only two dragons (seemingly one Cold Drake and one Fire Drake) had survived the War of Wrath and became the ancestors of all later Dragons, this would imply that Balcheneb's son Agburanar may have been one of these two Drakes.
