Athanar was a gray condensed venom obtained from the athanar viper, a large (6'-8') gray and black snake of the pit viper family, native to temperate tallgrass plains or steppes. Athanar attacked the victim's entire circulatory system, weakening Constitution. Raw athanar had the same effects but was somewhat weaker.
