Astrid was a teenage girl of Esgaroth and the daughter of Braga and Olga. Married to Bain, she became the mother of Prince Brand I. After surviving Esgaroth's destruction, Astrid and her mother sought refuge in Dale. She took shelter during the Battle of Five Armies while her mother fought bravely in defending the city until she was slain by a sheer number of Guldur Orcs. Orphaned, Astrid would later marry Prince Bain, the son of the famous Bard Bowman who killed Smaug and became the first King of Dale.
