Ashâktur (B.S.? ?) was a Rank in the military organisation of Angmar. It was more or less equivalent to a colonel or brigadier general. An Ashâktur usually was in charge of a brigade or legion of about 1000 footsoldiers. Five Ashâkturi were subordinate to one Murnairtur. A corresponding rank in the military structure of Dol Guldur or Gorgoroth was the Kritar.
