Arinlelya (Q. "Beautiful-morning") (S.A. 3037-3117) was the wife of Tar-Palantir and the mother of Tar-Míriel and one of the Faithful of Andúnië. While her mother Dimûrsániw had been a woman of non-númenórean descend her father Eärtáno a mariner of some renown, had brough from the coasts of Harad, she herself was brought up in every way after the manner of a young noblewoman of the Line of Andúnie. Arinlelya publicly wrote only plays dealing with the early history of Númenor; while these plays outwardly seemed to praise the current monarchy, they were interspersed with veiled criticisms of the regime. Secretly, she staged plays for Faithful audiences in Rómenna that outright condemned the King’s Men and their traditions. That Ar-Gimilzôr allowed his heir to marry such a woman was indicative of the lack of favor he showed his elder son. Arinlelya died giving birth to her daughter.
