Arandost (T.A. 2418 - T.A. 2509) was a talented ranger of the north. He was son of Arahad I and Calwen Morien, and the elder brother of Aragost. Following the Watchful Peace, Arandost was assigned by his father to accompany Lady Celebrian on a trip to Lórien where she planned to visit her parents Lord Celeborn and Lady Galadriel. It wasn't until they were ambushed by Orcs in the Redhorn Pass, and Arandost was pierced by seven arrows while defending Celebrian. His death was mourned by his kin, and his younger brother would inherit the title of Chieftain of the Dúnedain.
- Arandost is an earlier name that was changed to "Aragost".
