Andesalcë (Q."wide Grass"; Har."Adasílci") or Salcinórë (Q."Grassland"; Har."Sílcidâra") was an ancient poetic Quenya term for Harad and seems to have referred especially to the wide savannas of Far Harad.

The natives differentiated between the "Grasslands" (Mû."Shalak-Nû") and "Dry Grasslands" (Mû."Pârak-Nû").

Notes[]

The "Grasslands" and "Dry Grasslands" appear as biomes in the "Middle-Earth Minecraft" project. Geographically they ate meant to resemble the Sahelzone, a region skipped in Middle-earth Role Playing and on Pete Fenlon's continental map. Though it should be located between Near Harad and Bôzisha-Mîraz or Sîrayn next to the Harad Desert or between it and the semi-deserts of Near-Harad and Lostladen.

Boromir: "Is it not a strange fate that we should suffer so much fear and doubt for so small a thing? So small a thing!"
