Elven swanships (Q."Alpaciryar") were holy vessels of the Teleri, based on Aulë's own first swan-shaped water-vessels.They came in various sizes and designs from the smallest one-person cockle-shell up to four-masted Galleons.The most common swanship design was however a one-masted type similar to a sloop or Longboat of relatively low draught up to 19-70 foot in length and with 4-20 rows of oars.
