The southernmost portion of Middle-earth's high East-plain, Aldûryaknar (Ak. "Home of the great scions") lay around three thousand feet above sea level. Its temperate climate and ample rainfall made it a fine pastureland. Here, horses and cattle prospered under the skilled hand of Adek-speaking, Aldûryakna herders.
