Located above the Bóas Îsra , a high pass in the Tûr Betark through which ran the Yól Îsra , Aksâri was a welcome sight to an ignorant traveller. Gardens and beautiful buildings graced this upper vale, and all seemed to indicate a peaceful and safe setting. Only too late would a traveller find that he was mistaken, for this was the High Citadel of the Tayb, the Followers of the Silent One. The citadel and palace were located in a box canyon surrounded by cliffs. High walls sealed off the canyon and provided for excellent defense. A tower rose in a saddle between two peaks to the northeast of the grounds. Within the walls grew exotic gardens. The landscape and buildings wdre maintained by workers and slaves who served the Silent Ones. The Lord of the Palace reportex to the High Priest of the Tayb. The lower floors of the palace were devoted to the libraries, eating halls, and living quarters of the workers and slaves. The upper floors were where the Tayb resided. The High Priest dwellt in the citadel where all of the dark rites were performed. Guest rooms were also located for use by visitors to the High Priest.
