- J. R. R. Tolkien, The Fellowship of the Ring II:10
The Aegaw (Ae. "Spear-men") were an ancient people of the Farthest East, the principal inhabitants of the eastern kingdom Aegan. The Aegaw were descendants of the Micghinà and Ilhian, tribes descending from the Woodmen of the Far East and, to a degree, Wômaw emissaries.
