Êruzagar (A. "Sword of God") "the Warmaker" was the twelfth king of Bellakar.

History[]

Êruzagar was the son of the eldest daughter of King Narkuzîr I, and his mother was the sister of the infamous Berúthiel who was married to Gondor. He was born in His grandfather was forced to abdicate to his great-uncle, Artârik I, due to the unpopularity of trying to bring practices of worship in line with the solemn practices of Gondor.

During of the invasion of the Tedyin-Qarsag, he came to his great-uncle's rescue in T.A. 884. Êruzagar led the cavalry that came to the rescue of Bellakar. He covered a retreat on Nîlûlondê, and began to draw reinforcements from the south, and from the sea ports in northern Bellakar. The commander of the enemy forces, Zagarkhâd (the "Shrouded Tarb") did not directly march on Nîlûlondê, however, and instead sought to weaken Bellakar by raiding in the north. During the counter-attack, Artârik was killed, and thus his great-nephew Êruzagar became king.

Êruzagar organized a masterful defense of Nîlûlondê when the Tedyin now threatened to attack in T.A. 889, but Galkar, a Bellanarûd captain and kinsman of the royals betrayed his people, and poisoned his guard company. The royal palace was thus attacked, and the king commanded his son Adûnuzîr to escape and make for their Bôzishnara allies; his son did not wish to abandon his people, but the king told him that he must go in order to avenge them another day. Êruzagar killed two sons of Joam-Tuv but was taken by the Tedyin forces, and the people of the capital were massacred or enslaved. However, furious that the king's son had escaped, the Tedyin king ordered the ravenous wolf-hounds upon Êruzagar. This would thus end the Third Entail of the Tumakveh dynasty and begin the period of the Tedyin Yoke, though the dynasty was restored by Êruzagar's son Adûnuzîr in T.A. 905, beginning the Fourth Entail.
