`ur`êrê was a Dragon of the Second Age who haunted the Sea of Illuin and parts of the great Northern Peninsula of Middle-earth.He was the brother of 'Inyi'akta and the two great Cold-drakes were so powerful and terrifying the Nwûrdu and other northernmost Easterlings mistook them for the ancient Gostir and Lamthanc returned.Save The Sixth of the Nazgûl, who laid claim to the Barl Syrnac in the late Second Age, no power in the Far North rivaled that of 'ur'êrê.

According to ICE canon Gostir was a work who was born (or hatched) in the first Age, survived the War of Wrath, faced The Sixth of the Nazgûl in the second Age and seemingly was still alive in the Third Age ca. 1640.As this creates problems with the legendarium and chronology, this was retconned for this wiki and Gostir and the Second Age dragon are considered two separate entities.
