`Inyi`akta (Av."Worm of oppression") was a Dragon of the Second Age who dwelt on the Northern Peninsula.A great white Cold-drake, it's inhabitants mistook him for the ancient Lamthanc of legend returned.`Inyi` akta had to deal with the machinations of The Sixth of the Nazgûl, the Wraith, the Lord of later Dír and the Ice King of later Ûrd. His claims stretched across most of northern Middle-earth. They encompassed the hunting grounds of various Dragons, including `Inyi`Akta and his brother 'ur'êrê. Neither Cold-drake openly challenged the Nazgûl, for both preferred simpler contests; however, `inyi`akta constantly tested the limits of the nazgûl's patience. The Worm of oppression delighted in raiding later Ûrd and Myr herds, as well as hunting the Nazgûl's more isolated sentries and war parties.

According to MERP canon it was Lamthanc himself who had survived the War of Wrath and faced the Northern Nazgul in the mid-Second Age.As this is highly unlikely with the legendarium this was retconned on this wiki as a different Dragon, possibly a remote descendant of Lamthanc whom the northernmost men mistook for the ancient Dragon returned.
