Not entirely sure if this is the right place to put this but I will try my luck.
I am in the process of recreating my own map of Aman and Tol Eressea no wholly in line with canon as I have found that the location that we are given are quite sparse and minimal at most. I was interested as to how whoever expanded on the pages for these locations go about a entirely new locations on to their maps.
Apart from the canon Tolkien sources and the Lost Tales snippets (though there are some placements I don't entirely agree with or disregard Tolkien), a lot of the new regions and such don't seem to fit with the themes of the area, mainly of which in Tol Eressea. Filling in holes in my map I am intrigued to understand as much about anything behind these locations and keep coming up with dead pages and blank google searches for any links to any other material. I do realise that the map is set in the Sixth Age but still there is not much to link it to what it is know (especially with more than 75% of locations being dead pages).
Ultimately I am interested if solely with these pages or across the NNCA website as a whole whether there is a naming convention or some checks that need to be covered to get newer locations accepted and whether there is any thought behind these new locations rather than just adding random names to things?
