Would not make more sense to call the Azog in the movies Azog still and call Bolg his son Bolg 1. Why not make Azogs father Azog The Slayer. This would make both the movies and books make sense and cooralate. All the things Azog did before the battle of Azanulbizer was actually Azog the slayer, who was killed in the battle. Then Azog the defiler his son killed the dwarf king and avenged his father. All the events after this are actually Azog the Defiler and his son Bolg is Bolg the first. Why not use this instead of Azog in the movies actually being Bolg. This makes way more sense. It would be nice if this would be used instead and soem names were changed

Hi everyone! I'm trying to find out which MERP books the 'En'i are from. I've searched through all books from the 1st and 2nd editions that can be found online, but can't find anything. Related pages do list sources but the things that are supposedly in those books aren't in them. Does anyone have any idea?

I would just like to thank any and all contributors to this Archive. It has served as vital reference point to my ongoing research into Mythology and relating those legends back to Tolkien's Universe.
Much of what's been added has been simply genius. I look forward to commenting and hopefully starting meaningful discussion.
Reading the Bible with a LOTR viewpoint is like starting at Ainunlindale and then skipping to the Fifth Age.
Front Page of this wiki says the sources are Gaming in Middle Earth related.
Can't (or Don't) the TV shows have their own wiki ?
I made this flag for Rohan, what do you think?
Please label your inputs. Pen and Paper Modules, Fan-Fic, Video Games, Online Games, - - - -Thanks in Advance.
Not entirely sure if this is the right place to put this but I will try my luck.
I am in the process of recreating my own map of Aman and Tol Eressea no wholly in line with canon as I have found that the location that we are given are quite sparse and minimal at most. I was interested as to how whoever expanded on the pages for these locations go about a entirely new locations on to their maps.
Apart from the canon Tolkien sources and the Lost Tales snippets (though there are some placements I don't entirely agree with or disregard Tolkien), a lot of the new regions and such don't seem to fit with the themes of the area, mainly of which in Tol Eressea. Filling in holes in my map I am intrigued to understand as much about anything behind these locations and keep coming up with dead pages and blank google searches for any links to any other material. I do realise that the map is set in the Sixth Age but still there is not much to link it to what it is know (especially with more than 75% of locations being dead pages).
Ultimately I am interested if solely with these pages or across the NNCA website as a whole whether there is a naming convention or some checks that need to be covered to get newer locations accepted and whether there is any thought behind these new locations rather than just adding random names to things?

[Not sure this should be posted here] In Togo of the Bag page. Togo Baggins was an early name of Fosco Baggins in the Return of the Shadow Not in the New Shadow :-)
Hello, I'm the new wiki manager on this wiki. Please let me know if you need anything.
Hi I have been looking at this site for over 5 years and have enjoyed it immensely. I have logged on for the first time as I have noted an issue. The add that sits above the page seems to have caused a problem in that when it descends and departs the page does not allow you to click on the highlighted links to move you through the pages on some of the highlights only. Last pages I checked was the Anarion brother of Isildur page but it also occurred on the unnamed characters page links.
How rare would you say is it to have an old copy of this map in near pristine quality? i was looking through my dads stuff, and found a copy. I found this place by looking up a name of a place on the map. I was wondering because I am in love with the work put into the map and lore behind everything.

It seems that someone (not me) enabled "Discussion", so let me be the first to use it….
The defunct web site "Realms of Arda" is referenced extensively here. Perhaps we should place a link to that archive on the main page, or somewhere else prominent, to guide users to an extant web address. I do not feel like going back and editing every single link right now. -V
P.S. That link appears on 216 pages !
P.P.S. Here's another one: Lindëfirion
